Garcinia Cambogia, which is used for the active ingredient, Hydrocitric Acid or HCA. It is extracted from the garcinia cambogia fruit, similar to an orange. It is commonly used as an appetite suppressant. Hydrocitric acid or HCA is a "lipogenesis inhibitor," which means that it slows down the production of fat from the metabolism of carbohydrates and proteins. This means that more calories are burned as energy and less are turned into stored fat. Studies on animals and humans have shown that HCA can suppress fat production and reduce appetite.

Green Tea Extract is currently being promoted by the health conscious community as a weight loss product, which does not do this incredible concoction of helpful ingredients justice. Many green tea extracts nowadays exclude caffeine, to avoid the associated side effects and lower the ingestion of this legal addictive stimulant. Gymnema Sylvestre is at home in India, predominantly southern and central tropical forests, and has been widely used in traditional Indian medicine as a herb for naturopathic treatment of diabetes, but also in connection with digestive problems, obesity, hyperglycemia, anemia and high cholesterol. It is known to block sweetness receptors in the tongue and is widely considered a sugar blocker. It is also able to reduce cravings for carbohydrates, such as sweet tooth, by simply chewing the leaves of the plant. Main active components are so called gymnemic acids, which are a group of oleanane type saponins. Dammarene saponins, also an ingredient, are gymnemasides. It has been observed that gymnemic acids display some antidiabetic, anti inflammatory and anti sweetener effects, making it an interesting weight control agent.

Hoodia Gordonii is a water retaining plant, also known as a succulent, which grows without leafs. Being native to the south of Africa, it has been in use for an indeterminable amount of time as an appetite suppressant. It is very easily identifiable, because the flowers of this plant have a rotten meat odor. The ingredient of the plant which is responsible for the appetite suppressing effects has been named P57. It is a steroidal glycoside which seems to act directly to the central nervous system’s mechanisms and supposedly raises the content of adenosine triphosphate in brain by at least a half. The effects of P57 in trials were registered as capable to reduce food intake by some fifty per cent on a daily basis.

Vitamin B12 is a water-souble member of the vitamin B complex. Requirements are in the microgram range, which is lower than the milligram range of the other B vitamins. Vitamin B12 is involved in the production of red blood cells and is usually known as the anti-anemia vitamin.
